Affiliate disclosure

Some of the outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you sign up or buy through one, the vendor pays us a commission. You pay the same price you would have paid going direct.

What that pays for

It pays for the site: hosting, tools, and the time it takes to read pricing pages carefully. It is how a directory like this stays free to read and keeps no advertising in the way of the reviews.

What it does not change

Affiliate status has no effect on a score, a verdict, or a position in any list or table. Every tool is scored on the same five criteria with the same weights, whether it pays us or not. Tools with no affiliate program are reviewed exactly the same way, and several of our top picks pay us nothing at all. No vendor buys a listing, and no vendor sees a review before it goes up.

How to tell

Affiliate links are the buttons and links that go to a vendor’s site. They carry the standard sponsored and nofollow markup, so browsers and search engines can see them for what they are. If you would rather not use one, search the vendor’s name and go direct. The review says the same thing either way.
